The Katyn Memorial

الوصف

The main entrance to the Memorial is a burial mound cut through by a forest road. Both parts of the building are connected by a passage barring the road as a symbolic glass wall, as if separating the past and present. The gates are provided with automatically operated leaves. In 1999 the Katyn Memorial was awarded the first premium of the Russian architecture festival, "Zodchestvo".
